92-94 Points Wine Enthusiast
Barrel sample – “This wine is heavily influenced by ample new-wood ageing. It’s deliciously juicy with black currant and plum fruits balanced by swathes of refreshing acidity at the end.” (RV) (4/2013).
90 Points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“A juicy style of wine, Talbots 2012 has a dense ruby/purple colour, plenty of black and red currant fruit, a touch of plum, soft tannin and a spicy, medium-bodied mouthfeel. It is excellent, with no hollowness or astringency. This is a very successful wine in this vintage and should drink well for 15-20 years.” (RP) (4/2015)
89-91 Points Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar
“Deep ruby. The pure aromas of cassis, violet and minerals just scream Bordeaux. Fresh and energetic on the palate, with suave flavours of dark berries, minerals and dry herbs. This captivating Talbot has lovely length and balance. Very well done: this is one of the biggest Left Bank successes in 2012.” (IDA) (6/2013)
